Facing Only Limpers in Early or Middle Position at a Loose FL Hold'em Game

No one has yet shown strength by raising, this advocates playing a lot of hands. Still your position will be bad the rest of the hand. Also there are players who could still wake up with a hand, either behind or from a slowplaying limper. Thus any two cards won’t do. Three of the weakest hands that make the cut are: A 5, J 9 and K J .

The first example hand is referred to as a suited ace. Any two hole cards of the same suit and an ace is a compelling hand. This hand can win with top pair (there is no bigger pair). When another ace hits the board, the kicker counts and the higher it is the better the starting hand is. Do not award any emphasis on the wheel making possibility. Sure, the hand above might make the lowest possible straight. Thereby it might be stronger than A6s, but do not bother too much about it. The real strength of a suited ace hand is making the nut flush in a loose and passive game, where pots grow when you want it too.

The recommended hands are now moving Off-Broadway. Suited hands with a card as low as a 9 perform well in a pot where no one seems to cherish their chances as of yet. The best suited connectors also enjoy the possibility to come in cheap to see a flop and maybe hit it big. With such mediocre cards you do not welcome a raise from your left, but if it comes you are not so weak that you fear it. If you have decent enough high card potential, it is you that should take the initiative with a raise. You probably have the best hand with for example: K J. A raise will increase the amount of money in the pot when you are ahead. It is also good enough to warrant a defensive call – in a pot which you have made larger – after a mediocre flop That is, it will often get enough outs to get proper pot odds even when it does not hit big directly on the flop.

When there hasn’t been a raise, most off-suit Broadway hands also comes into the mix. These hands are more vulnerable from up front and likes small pots. Do not go lower than KJ even in loose games. Other hands may look pretty, but are easily dominated. What you want is to hit a good pair and win without having to get into kicker trouble.

Again the same hands should be played in middle- as in late position. Think of it as if these hands were added to early position. The reasoning is that you will not be raised and left alone against a strong holding with these speculative hands as often as in tighter games.
