Bloggers Keep Fighting Against US Poker Ban

New York, NY (PRWeb) January 24, 2007 -- Since the Unlawful Internet Gambling Bill came into law, there has been much confusion over what US based poker players can actually do. Lots of sites are still accepting US players, and lots have stopped. People do not know if it is legal or not to play.

Blogs have been set up to collate all the news and help keep players informed of the latest developments, and to help them keep playing.

One of these blogs is at http://unitedstatesofpoker.blogspot.com and it's owner, Randy Parkes, explained the service he was trying to provide, "The law is really confusing at the moment, and many Americans think they could be prosecuted for playing poker or gambling online. That is not the case. United States of Poker shows people where they can play, and how. It also shows people how they can fight the ban, which anyone with an interest in Online Poker needs to do."

Funding your account is the main problem that players are facing at the moment.

The law does not make it illegal to play poker or gamble online, but it is illegal for banks to conduct financial transactions with poker or gambling sites. Therefore the players are safe from prosecution for playing poker online.

This has lead to US players using eWallet like Neteller to fund their account. They deposit into the eWallet using their credit card, and then deposit into the poker site from the eWallet These eWallets are safe and trustworthy and have been operating for up to 10 years. they were originally set up to make it easier to switch payments between sportsbook and gambling sites, and after PayPal stopped gambling transactions.

Neteller was far and away the market leader until last week when they pulled out of the market following the arrest of the founders over charges relating to Sportsbook wagering.

This move left the online poker world reeling, but the remaining sites still accepting US players have moved quickly to assure players that they are still legally open for US business.

United States of Poker is providing a constantly updated service which shows all the US-accepting poker rooms, all the available E-wallets plus information on how you can protest about the law change.
