Ultimate Bet make money just like every other poker room by collecting a set percentage of the total pot at the end of every hand. What they collect is called "rake", and is essentially what the customers pay UltimateBet to play at their site. Only the real money games are raked. The rake is between 0 and 5 percent. The aim is 5%. First off it depends on the game type. Two different rake schedules are used. One for pot- and no-limit games which is presented directly below and one for fixed limit games below it. The number of players and the pot size effect the rake and big bet games.

The fixed limit games at Ultimate Bet are raked in a similar manner but now the stakes also effects the rake. Lower stakes has tight intervals at which the drop is made but also low caps compared to other poker rooms. On the higher limits the intervals at which rake is collected grows but as the bets also grows it does not effect the rake taken out to such a degree as might be perceived at first.

Ultimate Bet operates a No Flop - No Drop policy, meaning that they do not take any rake from hands that do not reach the flop. The equivalent is true for other games. Saying “no flop – no drop” rhymes but “no second betting round – no rake taken” is the actual case.
